Porter Lyons offers piercings for minors at our staff's discretion and upon meeting the specified criteria. Please read our Minor Piercing FAQ here.
We offer outer helix/cartilage piercings for ages 13 and older. Please note, this does not include inner ear piercings (rook, daith, conch, etc.)
For all piercings under 18, the following materials are required:
- Guardian's government-issued ID
- Child's birth certificate
- Valid government-issued ID for Minor (ex: passport, ID card)
- Minor piercing release form (to be signed upon arrival)
Piercing appointments are booked in 1-hour intervals. This includes a consultation with minor prior to a piercing to talk through the piercing process and confirm minor's readiness for the procedure.

Fine jewelry is meant to be worn, and over time, 14k gold will develop a natural patina — minor surface wear that speaks to use, not diminishment. Keep your piece away from harsh chemicals, including chlorine, hairspray, and lotions, and store it in its box when not in use. To clean, use warm water with a soft-bristle brush, or our jewelry cleaner for additional shine— and note that pearls, turquoise, and Ethiopian opals should never be submerged or placed in an ultrasonic cleaner.
