Luxury Retail Sales Manager
LUXURY RETAIL SALES MANAGER
The Luxury Retail Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the sales and customer service operations of Porter Lyons. This individual is responsible for ensuring the store is well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing, as well as ensuring that customers receive exceptional service and guidance during the shopping experience. The luxury retail sales manager will manage and motivate a team of sales associates to achieve sales goals, while also ensuring that the team operates within the policies and procedures of the store. This role requires excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as a strong understanding of luxury retail sales and customer service. The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing a team in a luxury retail environment and a passion for jewelry and the luxury retail industry.
SKILLS & VALUE SET
- 5+ year experience working in retail or sales environment required
- History of retail sales + team management
- Expert understanding of product in relation to excellence in execution: visual merchandising, current trends, building and maintaining a sales culture
- Excellent communication skills
- Result driven self-starter
- Creativity in problem-solving
- Knowledge of sales per square foot and traffic expansion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Build + develop customer retention strategies
- Handle all repairs, including processing and communication with customers and repair specialist
TEAM LEADERSHIP
- Recruit, train, schedule and develop a retail team that exemplifies PL brand culture and excellent customer service
- Plan and execute on-site team building events
- Develop and implement sales goals structure for sales associates— with monthly or bi-monthly team touch bases as needed
- Oversee scheduling of sales team with consideration of holiday timelines
- Analyze employee performance and provide positive feedback to encourage growth and development
- Resolve conflicts as soon as they arise, settling them fairly and in a professional manner
STORE OPERATIONS
- Create & implement innovative sales strategies to meet and exceed sales goals
- Extremely results-driven mindset — driven by meeting and exceeding predetermined sales and cultural metrics
- Maintain an acute interest in jewelry and fashion industries, stay informed of industry trends, and translate this into identifying and pursuing new opportunities
- Host in-store events + launch of new products and collections – identify + implement community involvement opportunities and partnerships w/Director of Hospitality
- Drive partnerships with community influencers to foster relationships generating sales results
- Work with CEO and Operations department to align demand planning and buying needs to fulfill store objectives based on sales forecast
- Overall accountability for store performance, cleanliness, and organizational health. • Maintain the store's visual merchandising and quality standards
- Respond to unexpected changes in work environment with enthusiasm, creativity, proactiveness, and out of the box thinking
- Omni Channel Inventory Management - Buying/Receiving Product, Quarterly Stocktakes, Sales Floor Reporting, Packaging Reorders)
- Must be available to work all Holidays except for Christmas Day, Thanksgiving, and Mardi Gras Day.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to use a computer and other electronic devices for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs, as necessary, to access inventory and storage areas
- Ability to perform repetitive motions, such as bending, reaching, and grasping
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
- Ability to always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed
SPECIFICS
Position will be based at Porter Lyons flagship store in the heart of the French Quarter. This position is full-time competitive salary + commission. Health benefits and optional 401K savings.
